The trip from Maun, Botswana to Windhoek, Namibia was smooth. We dropped off the 4x4 and turned our full attention back to our Honda CRF300 Rally bikes.
It turned out that repairing them here was not a feasible option. Instead, we crated both bikes for transport.
They were picked up by a truck to go from Windhoek to Namibia’s harbour city Walvis Bay. From here, they’ll be shipped to all the way back to Berlin.
Our time in Windhoek came to an end. Instead of taking our motorcycles south, we had to board a plane to get to Cape Town.
In Cape Town, the weather was perfect. We did touristy things like getting on top table mountain to enjoy the views and do some hiking.
With Diana and Joe of Due South Motorcycle Tours we visited the vineyard Groot Constantia. If you’re keen on a tour in South Africa, give them a call – they really know their way around and bring lots of motorcycle enthusiasm.
On a trip to Robben Island, we saw the old prison and the cell Nelson Mandela was locked in for years.
Neither of us had been to Cape Town before and we were surprised by how pittoresque the city is. Great views everywhere.
After a few days of sightseeing, it was time to return to Berlin.
Thanks for following along. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this trip one way or the other.
It was great. We saw so many countries, places, landscapes. We met so many different people. It’s been incredibly interesting to get first-hand impressions of this continent we knew very little about before.
